National Novel Writing Month
Q : Aasa, you've decided to attempt NaNoWriMo while backpacking around Europe. Do you think you'll write in internet cafes or try to write long-hand? What do you think the benefits of noveling while traveling might be? A : I'm lucky enough to have a netbook with me, so I'll be able to ...

What’s hot + what’s not
Loobylu — Hello! It’s What’s hot + What’s not time *again*! Luckily my interests are so fleeting and fickle I have enough stuff to manage to get these lists together weekly. Are you taking part with your own list this week? If so, don’t forget to leave you link in the widget below. I will come and say hello! HOT Zinc – my favourite store this side of my parent’s house. While sometimes I feel a little like I am living in a shopper’s desert, a quick visit to Zinc in Toorak Road, Burwood (or is it Glen Iris around there?) to use a ...

A Bazillion Things
So, the thing is...blog — I have a bazillion things to tell y'all but this is the first day of NaNoWriMo and my head is swirling with words and plot twists. Both of my daughters have joined me in this insane undertaking and thus far, Ana (11) has finished her word count for the day and almost all of tomorrow's and Jane wrote 500 words on her first book and then changed her mind and wrote another 556 words on her second idea. I'm sitting at about 350 words but I had some stuff to do like exercise and grout my Butler's Pantry counter (FINALLY!) and...um...nap. I am drinking caffeine now, though, so watch my dust. Anyway, ...

NanoWriMo
Quality Time — A funny word for a fun month of words. NanoWriMo kicked off yesterday! It stands for National Novel Writing Month. I've never participated but I'm interested enough to give it a go! ...

Three Things To Keep Me Busy
High Fiber Content — Three things I'm participating in this month, all alphabet soup titles, but still all three seemed like a good fit: Yes, I'm trying NaNoWriMo one more time. So far so good, I'm already up to more than 6,000 words out of the goal of 50,00 this month. And I have chosen a much more open ended story this time. Last time around I really wrote myself into a corner and just kinda gave up.A new one that I've heard a lot of good things about. It was inspired by NaNoWriMo, but Art Every Day Month sounded like something I could use this month to keep me going on the creative ...

What IS a Bad Penny?
So, the thing is...blog — Okay, okay, sorry. It's just that my NaNoWriMo book (I say book since it's not really fiction yet --which is just how I write) has me all on FIRE (I don't mean literally because that would be bad and this is good) and I'm spending my every free moment on it. I haven't been this excited about a writing project (other than this blog) in a long time. Please forgive the scarcity of posts for a few weeks. Unless I continue drinking VAST amounts of coffee, in which case, please forgive the enormous backlog of posts suddenly appearing all on the same day. Meanwhile, look what happens when ...

What’s Hot + What’s Not
Loobylu — Jeepers  - this is quickly turning into a Wednesday only, what’s hot + What’s not blog. Nanowrimo is really not leaving much time for blogging. Never mind! Here’s the spiel if you want to play along: It’s as easy as writing up your own hot/not list on your blog and then linking back to me here at loobylu.com and then adding your url to the widget below. Here’s mine: Hot Days – the days are hot. I am not a fan of Summer (at least not of the Antipodean kind – Summer in Canada was really very pleasant) and it’s not ...

What’s Hot + What’s Not
Loobylu — Hello Wednesday! My hot + not blog entries are measuring the speed of time for me right now. Obviously NaNoWriMo is swallowing huge globs of my free time so everything else has come to a grinding halt (Including a notion that I might have made entirely homemade christmas presents -Pah! Ridiculous!). Here’s the game plan: To play along, it’s as easy as writing up your own hot/not list on your blog and then linking back to me here at loobylu.com and then adding your url to the widget below. Hot The umbrella plant in the kitchen (above). ...

amatterofmemories.com 6/3/2009 — No, it's not...February actually is, but I think June would be MUCH more fitting, don't you?
